Bohemian Wedding Inspiration At Sea Shack
Bohemian Wedding Inspiration
As the hard lockdown finally came to an end, this talented team did not hold back, delivering a truly remarkable bohemian wedding inspiration styled shoot! Lienkie van Eeden from Love Lienkie and Marcel Augustyn-Clark from Design by Marcel collaborated on this creative endeavour. The result was a stunning showcase of what can be achieved when unconventional thinking is applied to the traditional wedding venue – in this case, the unique Sea Shack setting.

Decor and flowers
When planning the wedding at Sea Shack, it was clear that the venue wasn’t designed with traditional wedding events in mind. Without built-in tables and chairs, the team had to get creative and source their own decor elements from nearby venues. They collaborated with Gelukkie to acquire ornate wooden chairs and N Concepts for additional decorative pieces.
The scullery of Marcel, a key designer, provided antique plates and cutlery, which he used to create unique place settings that deviated from the standard fork-on-the-left approach. This design element aimed to foster a relaxed atmosphere by incorporating vintage utensils and interesting textures with dual tones. To further enhance the bohemian ambiance, Marcel incorporated natural foliage from the surroundings and played with different textures.
Instead of a traditional wedding arch, Marcel designed a stunning totem pole featuring dry details and palm leaves that added a tropical touch to the rocks. The color palette remained naturally inspired, aligning with the beachy vibe while introducing pops of color through stained glass elements and anemone flowers – a subtle nod to the ocean’s sea anemones.
Dresses & Hair and makeup
VictorK’s exquisite wedding gowns were personally curated from his esteemed collection for this shoot. As a renowned South African-born Wedding Dress Designer, he is celebrated for his opulent evening and bridal gowns. Little did he know that his humble beginnings in designing custom dance dresses for classmates would lead to a career in fashion. The masterful styling of the models’ hair and makeup on the day was entrusted to the talented Mont Romay.
Her exceptional skills seamlessly blended with the bohemian aesthetic, beautifully complementing both the dresses and the models’ features.
Stationery and Cake
Susan Brand design, a master of her craft, was responsible for the exquisite stationery design and printing. Meanwhile, Mareli from Cake Me Happy, a virtuoso in the world of cake decorating, crafted the show-stopping wedding cake. This harmonious collaboration is a testament to the importance of cohesion between wedding theme, colours, and overall aesthetic. When executed well, as seen here, it can elevate the entire celebration to new heights.
Wedding catering
When it comes to wedding catering, intimate gatherings offer a unique opportunity to think outside the box and opt for an unconventional approach. One such alternative solution is Wahine Food Truck, which prides itself on serving healthy, wholesome, and balanced fast food options. To achieve this, the team sources produce from local suppliers, often growing their own ingredients, to ensure the highest quality and taste.
Freshly prepared on-site using traditional Polynesian cooking methods, Wahine’s menu excels at introducing new flavors and culinary experiences to the Cape community. By embracing this innovative approach, couples can enjoy a truly unique and memorable wedding celebration.
