Magical Moments At Tashreeqah & Marwaans Wedding
Meet Tashreeqah Sadien, a celebrated wedding dress designer from South Africa, whose expertise in creating breathtaking bridal gowns is renowned globally. As her own special day approached, it was no surprise that her wedding attire would be nothing short of extraordinary! Take a peek into the enchanting union between Tashreeqah and Marwaan at Soetendal, as narrated through her own captivating perspective.
Magical Moments
The memory that stands out the most is when my husband first put the wedding ring on my finger after we got married. What made it even more special was seeing our mothers’ beaming faces, radiating pure happiness. Having both our families united in that moment, with my own family’s joy and love filling the air, was truly unforgettable. Given that we had lost our fathers at a young age, it was especially meaningful to have our mothers there to share in our special day.
The Wedding Dresses
I had the privilege of wearing not one, but two exquisite couture dresses designed by myself and meticulously handcrafted by an exceptional team. Each gown required an extraordinary amount of manual labor, with the morning dress adorned with thousands of intricately sewn pearls for the Nikaah and brunch, while the afternoon dress was a showstopping fitted number with an over skirt fully encrusted in beads.
To make the formal reception even more unforgettable, I opted for a dual design concept – a modern and elegant style that seamlessly blended with the intricate lace details and copious beading. The afternoon ensemble featured a soft champagne hue, while the Nikaah ceremony dress shone in pure angelic white.
Bridal Hair
I opted for an understated yet refined hairstyle, securing my locks in a sleek bun that complemented both my morning and afternoon ensembles. The true pièce de résistance, however, was my veils – each one meticulously beaded to draw attention to the intricate craftsmanship and showcase the artisanal detailing that went into creating them.
Bridal Makeup
As the evening unfolded, I opted for a timeless and understated makeup approach that let my stunning ball gown pearl dress take center stage. A subtle nude lip and gentle highlighting on the cheeks created a soft, natural look that complemented my attire perfectly. Later in the day, I decided to make a bolder statement with a richer lip color paired with deeper, smokier eyes and more defined cheekbones. The talented Candice Joshua was responsible for bringing my makeup vision to life.
Beautiful Bridesmaids
As the special day began, I was honored to have two dear bridesmaids by my side – both of them being my lovely nieces. What made their presence even more meaningful was that they wore custom-made dresses designed and created by me. The fitted crepe fabric complemented perfectly with the flowing tulle details on the sleeves, adding a touch of elegance to their overall appearance.
Meanwhile, in the afternoon, we were joined by seven adorable flower girls, each dressed in stunning layered tulle gowns that brought a whimsical charm to the proceedings.
The Venues
The wedding celebrations began with a morning brunch at Barrons Estate, hosted by Marwaan’s family, starting at 11am. This was followed by an evening reception, held by my family at Soetendal Estate in Wellington, which took place at 4pm. I was thrilled to have Lelani from Unveil Elegance Events as my on-the-day planner, who did an outstanding job of keeping everything running smoothly and ensuring that all the planned activities unfolded flawlessly.
The Reception and Entertainment
As we welcomed our guests to the reception at 4pm, they were treated to an enchanting atmosphere in the beautiful courtyard. Canapés and mock-tails were served as ballerinas roamed freely, distributing fortune cookies and performing a choreographed dance for everyone’s delight. The Grey Duo serenaded us with a violin performance of modern hits, while caricature artists sketched our guests upon arrival – a thoughtful touch that left everyone smiling, thanks to Lelani’s clever suggestion.
As the evening unfolded, the ballerinas made a dramatic entrance alongside Marwaan and myself, setting the tone for an unforgettable night. The Grey Duo’s violin renditions continued throughout dinner, starting with a beautiful cover of ‘Can’t Help Falling in Love’ by Elvis Presley during our entrance. They later switched to a selection of dinner songs as we savored our starters. Meanwhile, our charismatic MC sang heartfelt tunes that perfectly complemented the main course.
The culinary delights were courtesy of The Food Basket, while our delectable wedding cake was a labor of love from a family friend who owns a small patisserie.
Wedding Decor & Details
To achieve a timeless look, we opted for classic decor elements, including crisp white linen tablecloths and napkins paired with elegant stem glasses. Our choice of flowers was equally understated yet sophisticated, featuring blush and cream roses accented by lush greenery.
The pièce de résistance was the custom-designed backdrop created by Mac Style Hiring, which consisted of exposed bulbs suspended above our bridal table, complemented by a showstopping arrangement of blooms that hung majestically alongside it. Our beautifully appointed bridal table became the focal point of the entire venue, its floral abundance and refined aesthetic perfectly harmonizing with the stunning white Chanel chairs that added a touch of refinement to the overall setting.
Sound & Lighting
The venue’s ambiance was elevated by Park Media’s innovative sound and custom lighting design. During our first dance, the room transformed into a whimsical space with soft pinks and whites, creating an enchanting atmosphere that left us spellbound. The seamless collaboration of various service providers was instrumental in making this wedding a truly unforgettable experience.
