The Real Wedding Of Kristi And Luke At Marlenique Wedding Estate
It’s not often that a chance encounter leads to a fairytale wedding, but Kristi and Luke’s story is just that. Their romance began with a casual ‘swipe right’, which eventually turned into two postponed dates, and finally, a perfect day at Marlenique Wedding Estate. The couple, who are undoubtedly ‘couple goals’, proved that it’s the imperfections that make their love truly special. Kristi, the bride, was surprisingly stress-free on her big day, savoring every moment.
When asked about their relationship, she gushed, ‘Luke and I were made for each other.’ And it’s clear to see why – they light up when they’re together, radiating joy and happiness in equal measure.
THE DECOR
With a minimalist aesthetic at its core, the decor was carefully curated to reflect Kirsti’s affection for the unique beauty of the delicious monster plant. To-Nett’s seamlessly merged this personal touch with bohemian influences, striking a perfect balance between simplicity and extravagance. The result was an atmosphere that was both understatedly elegant and whimsically playful.
THE CAKE
We chose to forego traditional cakes in favor of a show-stopping macaron tower, featuring vanilla and pistachio flavors. Since we had a dessert table set up, we figured everyone would be too busy indulging in their favorite treats to worry about cutting into a cake. As it turned out, our guests loved the idea just as much as we did! By the end of the night, every last macaron was devoured, leaving us with a sweet surprise – the top tier remained untouched until we enjoyed it on our honeymoon.
THE DRESS
I recall a major wardrobe change just two months prior to my big day. Initially, I had planned on wearing a specific dress, but after some last-minute doubts, I decided to commission a custom-made dress online. Unfortunately, the final product didn’t quite live up to my expectations when it arrived.
However, fate intervened in the form of my resourceful mother, who managed to breathe new life into the ill-fitting dress and turn it into a stunning masterpiece that left all our guests utterly impressed.
THE NON-TRADITIONS
Our special touch to the wedding was infused through various subtle yet meaningful elements. The soundtrack for our big day included our first dance to a Monark song that held immense sentimental value. In lieu of traditional bouquet and garter tosses, we opted for a more intimate approach. I gifted my bouquet to the longest-married couple in attendance, symbolizing the beauty of enduring love.
Our groomsmen’s attire was sourced from a local boutique, adding a touch of community charm to our celebration. We took it upon ourselves to create personalized favors and table settings, which not only reflected our unique style but also kept things budget-friendly (our two dresses combined totaled under R5000!). With every detail carefully curated, we were able to savor the stress-free and absolutely perfect atmosphere that defined our wedding day.
