As we reflect on our special day, my wife and I are in complete accord that it was the most unforgettable experience of our lives. Our wedding at Ou stal Equestrian Estate was nothing short of enchanting – a true fairytale come to life. The lush surroundings, set amidst an idyllic forest, provided the perfect backdrop for our celebration. The historic barn, dating back over 200 years, added a touch of ancient mystique to the atmosphere.
We opted for a natural, effortless setup that allowed the beauty of the venue to shine through, resulting in a truly magical and memorable experience.

As we exchanged our vows, the serene forest surroundings played host to an unforgettable ceremony setup. The natural ambiance was nothing short of breathtaking, and we felt incredibly fortunate to have chosen this enchanting backdrop for our special day. However, it’s safe to say that my wife’s arrival at the altar stole the show.
Her stunning appearance was the culmination of Lee-Anne Heinse’s exceptional makeup artistry, Marischa Hagie’s skilled hairstyling, and Bridal Aisle’s exquisite gown design. The moment she stepped into view, I was utterly captivated, unable to tear my gaze away from her radiant beauty.

Boho Themed Wedding Decor
To create an immersive atmosphere at our event, we opted for a nature-inspired bohemian theme from the onset. Our venue organizer, Bonita, was incredibly supportive and offered us a range of creative options to work with. The rustic charm of the old-horse barn was transformed through the use of lush greenery, vibrant plants, and whimsical fairy lights adorning its walls, creating an enchanting setting that set the tone for a memorable experience.
Delicious Wedding Food
The culinary experience at our wedding was truly exceptional. We were spoiled for choice with the set menu, which offered an array of mouth-watering options from start to finish. The service staff were impeccably professional in their attention to detail, ensuring that every guest felt well taken care of. And let’s not forget the abundance of food – there was so much that those who arrived hungry could easily have had seconds (or even thirds!)!
We also brought in our own selection of wines and champagnes, courtesy of Madre Kotze from UniWines Vineyards, Sneeukop outside Rawsonville. Meanwhile, Christine de Villiers crafted two breathtaking wedding cakes for us, including a gluten-free top-tier that I’m still raving about to this day – it was truly the best slice I’ve ever had.
Stellenbosch Wedding Venue
The venue’s in-house catering team handled food and beverages, while their on-site DJ and audio equipment ensured a seamless and enjoyable atmosphere. The setup was tastefully done, blending seamlessly into the surroundings. Bonita, the venue coordinator, skillfully brought everything together, resulting in beautifully presented tables that perfectly complemented the overall aesthetic.
Beautiful and Perfect Wedding Day
As the sun set on this unforgettable day, the audio and lighting setup perfectly captured the energy of our dance floor. The entire celebration was a testament to the seamless execution of our vendor team, who were well-prepared for any unexpected events that might arise. Despite the unforeseen power outage, everything ran smoothly thanks to the venue’s backup generator. It was truly a picture-perfect day that left everyone beaming with joy.
