The opportunity to work at a stunning industrial venue in Pretoria is a rare treat. When that chance arises for a couple as exceptional as Christiaan and Carla, it’s hard not to feel ecstatic! I’m thrilled to share the details of their special day with you, which took place at the breathtaking Ever Be Lodge.

As the words ‘I trust you completely’ leave her lips, my excitement grows. I’ve just been handed a rare gem – an ideal client who shares my passion for wedding planning. The thrill of building a connection with this bride and being part of her journey to finding true love is what gets me out of bed in the morning. It’s not about the financial rewards or professional recognition; it’s about having someone truly appreciate my craft, choosing to work with me over anyone else.

With meticulous attention to detail, Mrs. Rose crafted custom bridesmaid dresses featuring a beautiful floral print that perfectly harmonized with the overall colour scheme. This thoughtful touch extended beyond just the maids’ attire, as it was incorporated into various aspects of the wedding, including the groom’s striking dark green suit. The result was a visually stunning and cohesive celebration that truly reflected the couple’s unique style.
The Wedding Bouquet
Carla’s experience with Pronkertjie was truly unforgettable. The team went above and beyond to bring her vision to life, effortlessly blending simplicity and elegance in their decor design. The flower arrangements were nothing short of breathtaking, with the exquisite bouquet featuring peonies and orchids being a particular standout. In hindsight, Carla couldn’t be happier with how everything unfolded – she wouldn’t change a single detail if given the chance.
Special Moment Between Bride & Groom
The memories of our special day are still etched vividly in my mind, and one moment that stands out is when my then-fiancé’s eyes welled up with tears as he caught sight of me making my way to him. It was as if all his emotions had been bottled up until that instant, and seeing the joy and love shining through his tears was truly unforgettable.
Pre-Reception Entertainment
As the pre-reception festivities got underway, guests were treated to an unforgettable experience courtesy of Titus Music, whose lively performance set the tone for a fantastic evening. Meanwhile, Mother Nature decided to join in on the fun, bringing with her some unexpected thunder showers that only added to the excitement. The venue also went all out with their harvest table, showcasing an impressive array of artisanal breads and cheeses that perfectly complemented the evening’s rustic charm.
To satisfy any sweet cravings, Melinda’s Kitchen presented a stunning two-tiered blush wedding cake adorned with vibrant florals and textured buttercream finishes – a true masterpiece.
The Wedding Photographer
The excitement was palpable when Carla and Christiaan revealed their choice for their special day’s photography – Maresha-Lee. Her unique style, reminiscent of high-end editorial spreads, perfectly captured the essence of the venue and the couple’s wedding aesthetic. As Lizelle from Pronkertjie so aptly put it, having a photographer whose style aligns with that of both the setting and the celebration itself is truly a treasure.
Wedding Flowers & Decor
To achieve the desired modern industrial look, Carla opted for flowers and décor that would harmonize with Ever Be’s sleek aesthetic. The combination of light tulle table runners, glass, metal, and cement candleholders effectively amplified the industrial charm. Meanwhile, our florist incorporated a rich palette of colours, primarily dark hues, to add depth and romance.
By pairing these darker tones with soft pink, mauve, and copper-rose undertones, we struck a balance between contrast and interest. To emphasize the modern minimalist vibe synonymous with Pronkertjie, we selected a curated mix of orchids, tulips, arums, and anthuriums to create a visually striking arrangement that perfectly captured Carla’s vision.
Enjoy The Journey
As a newlywed bride, I’ve learned that the journey can be just as important as the destination. With a focus on budgeting – although it’s not always possible to stick to it – you’ll get a sense of what matters most to you and your partner. One of the key takeaways from my own experience was involving my husband in the planning process. Having him by my side made all the difference, and we were able to enjoy the journey together.
In fact, we both loved working together to bring our vision to life. Looking back, I’m grateful for that experience and the memories we created along the way. As for the logistics, my husband was thrilled to work with me on planning our special day.
