The Real Wedding Of Danette & Jacques At Beloftebos
Indulge in the romantic charm of this breathtaking real wedding, where nature’s beauty shines through in abundance. The following intimate account is a heartfelt reflection from the lovely bride, Danette, offering a unique glimpse into her special day.
The Couple
As we looked back on our enchanting wedding day, it was hard not to feel grateful for the perfect blend of love, joy, and magic that filled every moment. The experience was all the more special given its connection to the Marriott Hotel in Bangkok, where we got engaged in 2018. A curious coincidence emerged as I had frequently passed by a charming little jeweller just outside the school where my partner and I worked.
The shop’s intriguing glass windows and spiral staircase always piqued my interest, and I had often wondered what treasures lay hidden inside. Little did I know that this same jeweller was crafting an exquisite engagement ring, designed specifically for me. Two and a half years later, we made our love official by saying ‘I do’.
The Wedding Venue
When selecting a wedding venue, we knew we had to find a place that perfectly captured the essence of our special day. After searching far and wide, we ultimately decided on Beloftebos, largely due to its stunning oak trees, grand doors, and expansive glass windows that offered breathtaking views. However, what truly set this venue apart was the exceptional hospitality and professionalism demonstrated by Coia and her team – their welcoming nature left a lasting impression on us.
The Natural Wedding Decor
Our choice of venue harmonized seamlessly with our natural wedding decor, featuring earthy elements like dried aloe flowers, leaves, and roots. With San-Marie from Creative Nook at the helm, our mood board came to life in a spectacular display of raw and organic materials.
It was a privilege to spend the day amidst Alana Van Heerden’s breathtaking creations, knowing that each piece had been expertly beaded in India before taking shape in Africa – a beautiful fusion of eastern and western influences.
The Details
In Bangkok, Jacques’s bespoke suit was crafted with meticulous attention to detail, every button and seam carefully selected to reflect his unique style. Similarly, our culinary journey was curated by Pieter Hugo and brought to life by Corneli from Beloftebos. The menu expertly combined flavors that echoed the cultural fusion of our travels across two continents.
A bold move, Corneli suggested serving the dishes directly on the tables, allowing guests to serve themselves and fostering a sense of shared intimacy in the dining experience.
The Wedding Cake
The pièce de résistance was Pieter Hugo’s exquisite Wedding Cake, a masterpiece that wowed us with its golden pineapple and cherry chunks infused with sweet liqueur, smothered in white chocolate and icing – pure bliss! What resonated deeply was witnessing Jacques’ genuine joy as they gazed into each other’s eyes amidst the winter wonderland setting. It was as if time stood still, and every moment became etched in our memories forever.
I also extend heartfelt gratitude to each vendor on our list for their exceptional contributions to our special day. Their warmth, kindness, and professionalism made the experience truly unforgettable. If we could relive that magical day, we would eagerly invite all the vendors and guests back again and again.
