Tones Of The Earth Styled Shoot
Tones Of The Earth Styled Shoot Captured By Lily & Wild Photography
Jaqui from Lily & Wild Photography drew inspiration for Tones of the Earth Styled Shoot by starting with a simple yet evocative warm earth tone palette, which then evolved into an exploration of textures reminiscent of the natural world. The incorporation of raw terracotta, supple leather, and tactile wovens was intentional – Jaqui wanted to create a visual experience that would not only capture the viewer’s eye, but also invite them to touch and engage with the imagery.
Through her photography, she aimed to transport viewers to a space where they could feel the warmth and texture of the earthy tones.
Traditional Wedding Attire
In our vision, we envisioned a contemporary cultural wedding that seamlessly blended elements from various cultures. This harmonious fusion was perfectly captured in the breathtakingly beautiful full-body pearl-embellished bridal gown designed by Ilse Roux. The gown’s majesty was then complemented by an African Isicholo, a traditional adornment worn by married women, creating a stunning visual representation of cultural unity and celebration.
Soft Natural Wedding Suit
At Weddings Bells Suit Hire, grooms suits are designed to harmonize with the overall aesthetic of the wedding. A standout option is a suit featuring a soft natural stone shade as its primary hue, paired with leather tie and trim in warm toffee tones that subtly complement the colors and textures of the bridal couple’s attire.
Earth Inspired Wedding Stationary
The Purple Forest Design Studio’s stationery collection, crafted by Carmen, seamlessly blends natural elements with contemporary flair. The design draws inspiration from the organic world, incorporating earthy tones and textures that evoke a sense of serenity. This is juxtaposed with modern font styles and geometric shapes, resulting in a unique stationery set that exudes a perfect balance between the rustic and the refined.
African Wedding Flowers & Decor
As a florist, I’m deeply passionate about working with color. While my personal space is inspired by earthy tones, it’s fascinating to explore the diverse range of natural hues found in Africa – from warm browns and tans to vibrant reds, ochre, and even black. The breathtaking sunsets that dominate the African landscape often evoke a rich tapestry of colors, including bold reds, terracotta, mustard, and sand, which I hope are reflected in my design choices.
Wedding Tower Cheese Cake
By substituting a conventional sweet wedding cake with a majestic tower of cheeses, the Cake & Olive Bar expertly capitalized on a modern trend in wedding desserts. This inspired choice effortlessly harmonized with the overall aesthetic of the shoot, seamlessly integrating into the olive bar’s rustic charm. The resulting savory delight not only surprised and delighted guests but also added an innovative twist to the traditional wedding fare.
Forest Wedding Venues
Surrounded by the tranquil beauty of wine farms and boasting breathtaking vistas, Winery Road Forest presents a secluded and intimate forest wedding setting. This exclusive venue is nestled away from the hustle and bustle of busy highways, providing an idyllic backdrop for your special day.
With its natural pine forest ambiance, Winery Road Forest seamlessly blends with any style or theme, whether you’re drawn to traditional elegance, vintage charm, rustic romance, contemporary sophistication, or whimsical fantasy. Whatever your vision, this enchanting venue will bring it to life.
African Queen Bridal Makeup
To infuse a sense of radiance into her features, I opted for a color palette that emphasized warm, earthy hues – terracotta, rich reds, and deep browns. The goal was to coax out the natural warmth in her skin undertones, much like the majestic beauty of African queens. By doing so, we aimed to create a captivating visual narrative that highlighted her unique features.
Reception Wedding Dress
This modern young bride opted for a unique reception dress designed by Hey Belly, exclusively available to rent from Blossoms and Belle. The standout piece was adorned with an eye-catching African Shweshwe fabric head scarf, adding a pop of cultural flair to the overall look. To create a cohesive and warm atmosphere, the bridesmaids’ outfits featured layered tulle in rich tones of burgundy and toffee brown, providing ample texture and visual interest.
Western Cape Wedding Photographer
For a long time, I’ve envisioned a contemporary African-inspired photoshoot. To avoid it feeling overly saccharine or cliché, I deliberately steered clear of obvious African motifs like beadwork or stereotypical imagery. Instead, I focused on incorporating unique elements that pay homage to the continent’s rich heritage without being too on-the-nose. Shwe shwe, with its vibrant colors and undeniable African flair, was an obvious choice for the table setting.
The goal was to create a tablescape that would resonate with modern African brides, blending sleek candlelight, cutting-edge cutlery, and stylish floral arrangements that nod to Africa’s cultural heritage.
African Wedding Styled Shoot
Africa’s rich tapestry of color, texture, scent and sound is what I aimed to capture in this styled shoot. The warmth of woven grass, the earthy aroma of terracotta, the smoothness of leather and the rustic charm of wood all blended together to create a sensory experience that celebrates the beauty of diversity.
To bring this vision to life, we collaborated with an incredible team of suppliers, including Two Cherries as event coordinator, Lily & Wild Photography behind the lens, Ilse Roux providing the stunning bridal attire, Blossom & Belle Rentals and Wedding Bells Suit for the bridesmaid and groom looks respectively, Saffanic adding a touch of elegance with their jewelry offerings.
Nicole Grant Hair and Make Up worked their magic on our models, Esther Yenga, Masi Lallie and Okuhle Poswayo, while Purple Forest Design crafted beautiful stationery, LOL’s Flowers added the finishing touches to the decor and JSG Films captured the entire experience on camera.
