The Couple
It all began when Lenandi, a fresh face in college, crossed paths with Dian, who was already knee-deep in his honours program. The years that followed were marked by distance – three long years to be exact – as Lenandi completed her remaining studies in Potchefstroom while Dian returned to Namibia to start his professional journey. But fate had other plans, and the couple’s paths converged once more when they got engaged on January 14th, 2020.
Little did they know that their next reunion would be a momentous occasion – their wedding day, December 5th, 2020. For Lenandi, it was a dream come true, as she finally got to reunite with her fiancé and experience the magic of their special day together.

As we approached our special day, the weather seemed to mirror our emotions – unpredictable. The week leading up to our wedding was plagued by relentless rain, but as the big day drew near, nature seemed to conspire in our favor. On the morning of our ceremony, a torrential downpour gave way to a stunningly clear sky. It was as if the heavens themselves were rejoicing at our union.
With every family member and friend present, despite the lockdown restrictions, our wedding felt like a testament to love’s indomitable power. And I knew that my husband, the most incredible person I’ve ever met, was meant to be mine. Despite the chaos that had surrounded us in the lead-up to our big day, we were finally able to tie the knot and seal our love forever. It truly was the best day of my life, a day that proved even a global pandemic couldn’t stand in the way of true love.
